A philia e o sentido formativo da amizade na ética aristotélica

O artigo explora o sentido formativo da amizade na ética aristotélica. O percurso argumentativo parte de uma breve consideração sobre o sentido polissêmico do conceito grego de philia e o modo como este chega em Aristóteles, aborda a transição que vai do ´primeiro amigo` presente no Lisis de Platão à ´amizade perfeita` aristotélica; trata do amor de si, da fórmula do “outro eu” e da relação de ambos com a amizade para, por fim, tematizar uma possível relação existente entre amizade e formação em Aristóteles. Conclui que o sentido formativo da amizade pode ser buscado considerando uma dupla perspectiva, a saber: a) a necessidade do cultivo de si, que implica o sentido do viver juntos e da vulnerabilidade humana; b) o aspecto da autopercepção e do autoconhecimento que torna-se possível pela mediação do amigo. Aristoteles. ; This paper explores the formative meaning of friendship in Aristotle’s ethics which, in its deeper sense, translates the human vulnerability present in the need men have of their counterparts so they can understand themselves as humans. The argument starts from a brief consideration on the polysemic meaning of the Greek concept of philia and of how it reaches Aristotle, addresses the transition going from the ´first friend` shown in Plato’s Lisis to Aristotle’s ´perfect friendship`; it addresses the love for the self, the formula of the “other self” and the relation both have with friendship to, eventually, establish a possible relation between friendship and formation in Aristotle. The conclusion is that the formative meaning of friendship can be sought considering a double perspective, namely: a) the need to cultivate oneself, which implies the meaning of living together and of human vulnerability; b) the aspect of self perception and self knowledge that is made possible through the mediation of a friend.
