نبذة مختصرة : Introduction: The therapeutic education of patients allows them to acquire or improve their knowledge and skills about their disease. While the overseas departments belong to those with the highest prevalence rate of diabetes in France, the diabetic patients are mainly detected and treated by their primary care doctor in the ambulatory sector, whereas the therapeutic education programs are essentially proposed by hospitals. This thesis aims at collecting the feeling and expectations of diabetic patients who participate in the therapeutic education program with "town doctors" of Rivière-Pilote in Martinique, to adapt and possibly develop this program. Matériel et méthods: To carry out this work, the qualitative method was chosen, with an approach by phenomenological interpretative analysis through semi-structured interviews. Fifteen people participated in the study between March 2021 and February 2022. All participants were type-2 diabetics, had participated in 2017 and in the necessary number of workshops. Results: When the announcement of the diagnosis is discussed, the reactions and emotions of the patients vary, as well as the experience of their diabetes. With this program, most participants hoped, among other things, to gain new knowledge about their disease. In fact, they have, on the one hand, found that they have gained autonomy and, on the other hand, progressed in the process of accepting the disease. For most of them, the liberal sector is an additional factor in the good adherence to the program. Given these results, different avenues for improvement are to be explored: "reinforcement" program, discussion groups, new workshops. Conclusion: This work encourages the development of similar programs on the Martinique territory in a more harmonious way to allow a greater number to benefit from them. To continue this research, a study of the obstacles to their deployment can be envisaged in the future. Local therapeutic education, aimed at being complementary, makes it possible to take care of patients at ...
