Diabetic mellitus (DM) is a major metabolic disorder. The duration of disease is the main risk factor for the development of complications. The present study was aimed to provide an insight into the spectrum of complications. The study was conducted on ninety-one subjects comprising of sixty-five diabetic patients and twenty-six control subjects. The proportion of non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) was 75% whereas insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) was 25% in the patients studied.
