Efeito da formulação homeopática artemisia cina 30CH sobre nematódeos gastrintestinais de pequenos ruminantes

Gastrointestinal parasites are known to cause damage to sheep production worldwide and are usually treated with commercial antiparasitic drugs, however the indiscriminate use of commercial drugs has led to the development of anthelmintic resistance. Acording to this, the need for new control solutions arose. Among the possible solutions there is the use of homeopathic products such as Artemisia cina extract. The present work evaluated the use of commercial extract evaluating its effectiveness in the treatment of Haemoncus contortus. Twelve ewes and eight naturally infected goats were used, which were divided into two groups. One group was weighed and received 1 mL of a homeopathic solution of Artemisia cina 30CH for each 5 kg of weight, in a single dose. Feces collections were processed for testing the number of strongyle eggs per gram of feces on the date of treatment ("day zero"), as well as 7, 14, and 28 days later. The strongyle eggs per gram values were tested for normality by the KS test and the means of the treated and control groups were detected by the unpaired T test, in each acquired data, by the GraphPad InStat 2.0 software. No significant difference was found between groups (p < 0.05).
