      Problems due to smartphone use have been around for a long time and have increased in recent years. Smartphone has become one of the most important technical resources in the individual's everyday life. It is considered a societal problem when it affects us at working life, at school, in private life and leisure time. Because injuries from smartphone use can suffer for the individual when it becomes a contributing factor to mental illness such as difficulties in emotion regulation, depression and distant social support for the environment. The present study addresses the topic of smartphone use problems with the aim of seeing possible connections between four variables, which are smartphone use, emotion regulation, depression, and perceived social support. With this quantitative study conducted through a questionnaire, 113 respondents participated among 90 women, 22 men and one person identified as other with. The age was between 18-74 years. The results show that there is a positive relationship between smartphone use problems, emotion regulation and depression. On the other hand, it shows a negative connection between perceived social support, smartphone use and emotion regulation. It also shows a negative connection between perceived social support and depression. The present study aims to contribute to development through a growing understanding of smartphone use problems. However, there is a continuing need for future studies that can explain the findings of the current study in depth and through causal connections.
