Politique de sensibilisation des populations à l’épreuve de la dégradation des ressources en eau dans la ville de San-Pédro (Sud-ouest ivoirien)

International audience ; The protection of water resources is a real problem facing the authorities of the city of San-Pédro. Faced with a constant deterioration of water resources, local communities and private organizations have opted for the awareness-raising policy of populations around water resources as a means of combating and eradicating this phenomenon. However, it turns out that the implementation of this policy is failing to the point where the destruction of the marine environment is still topical in the city. Thus, this reflection is interested in the tools and means used by local authorities during awareness raising. Next, it seeks to identify the determinants that explain the failure of the awareness-raising activities implemented by the authorities. Finally, this study plans to offer these decision-makers adequate and appropriate tools for a better awareness-raising policy. From a mixed (qualitative and quantitative) survey carried out with the authorities and the populations, it appears that the awareness campaigns in San-Pédro revolve around conferences, cleaning activities and series of exchanges between populations and community agents. The study also reveals that the failure to raise awareness results from the decision-makers' lack of control over the degradation of water resources, their low involvement in the development of awareness-raising policies and the non-ecological behavior of populations. very attached to their economic interests around water resources.
