The luminous side of the force of the social: A sociophilic tribute to Henri Raynal’s cosmophilia ; Le côté lumineux de la force du social. En hommage sociophilique à la cosmophilie d’Henri Raynal

International audience ; Faced with the fascination of a certain critical sociology with the dark side of the power of the social, this article, written as a tribute to Henri Raynal’s cosmophilia, proposes to take a walk from the shadows to the light It first describes the symptoms of this sociological disease that we here call “sociophobia,” and then sheds light on certain inseparable aspects of the delicate and bright essence of the social: its intrinsically moral, epiphanic, and aesthetic dimension. In the company of Marcel Mauss, Charles Cooley and John Dewey, this article invites us to think, in a resolutely “sociophilic” and anti-utilitarian perspective, how much the social world could not be established and perpetuate itself without this “anonymous or human” generosity, of which the sociologist, like the poet, would be well inspired to testify. ; Face à la fascination d’une certaine sociologie critique pour le côté sombre de la force du social, cet article, rédigé en hommage à la cosmophilie d’Henri Raynal, se propose de cheminer, de l’ombre à la lumière, en décrivant tout d’abord les symptômes de cette maladie sociologique qu’il nomme « sociophobie », pour ensuite éclairer certains aspects, indissociables, de la délicate et lumineuse essence du social : sa dimension intrinsèquement morale, épiphanique et esthétique. En compagnie de Marcel Mauss, Charles Cooley et John Dewey, il invite à penser, dans une perspective résolument « sociophilique » et anti-utilitariste, combien le monde social ne saurait s’instituer et se pérenniser sans cette « générosité, anonyme ou humaine », dont le sociologue, comme le poète, serait bien inspiré de témoigner.
