Secure Attachment and Forgiveness: The Mediating Role of Psychological Resilience

WOS: 000429445600002 ; This study aims at investigating the mediating effect of psychological resilience on secure attachment and forgiveness among university students. The participants were 293 university students (57% female, 43% male: mean age, 20.96 years; standard deviation (SD), 1.85) selected randomly and who were asked to complete a package, consisting of a Relationships Scale Questionnaire, an Ego Resiliency Scale, a Heartland Forgiveness Scale and a Personal Information Form. The hypothesis tested the mediation effects of psychological resilience between secure attachment and forgiveness using structural equation modeling. The results of the analysis reveal the mediating role of psychological resilience between secure attachment and forgiveness. The findings are discussed in line with the relevant literature available and conclusions are drawn.
