Applicazione della dieta chetogenica per il trattamento dell'obesità

Questa tesi è divisa in due principali macro-argomenti: il primo è quello dell'obesità. Viene descritta l'epidemiologia nel mondo e in Italia, l'eziologia in base alla quale si distinguono obesità primaria e secondaria, e infine vengono accennati i trattamenti della patologia, con focus sul cambiamento dello stile di vita, e introduzione del secondo macro-argomento, ovvero la dieta chetogenica. Nella seconda parte vengono descritti i principi di questa dieta, il meccanismo biochimico che porta alla creazione dei corpi chetonici, vantaggi e svantaggi per quanto riguarda la perdita di peso, e accenni a studi clinici e pre-clinici. This thesis is divided into two main macro-topics: the first is the obesity one. It's described the epidemiology in the world and in Italy, the etiology on the basis of which primary and secondary obesity are distinguished, and finally the treatments of the disease are mentioned, with a focus on lifestyle changes, and the introduction of the second macro-topic i.e. the ketogenic diet. The second part describes the principles of this diet, the biochemical mechanism that leads to the creation of ketone bodies, advantages and disadvantages regarding weight loss, and hints at clinical and pre-clinical studies.
