نبذة مختصرة : The study aims to explore and analyse ethical communication hadiths that can be applied to individuals with mental disabilities in Malaysia. Individuals with mental disabilities (OKU mental) are an important community within the local society. However, this group often faces challenges in communicating with the public or in the public’ss understanding of how to communicate with them. Therefore, this study discusses selected hadiths through qualitative analysis related to communication ethics to understand how Islam encourages attitudes of respect and empathy towards individuals with mental disabilities based on the Manual of Disability Awareness for the Implementation of Friendly Health Services for Persons with Disabilities (OKU) in 2015. Data was collected from primary sources such as collections of hadiths, commentaries by scholars, and relevant literature. The study found that Islam emphasises the importance of comprehensive communication for all individuals, including those with mental disabilities. In this context, Islam views everyone as a creation of Allah entitled to fair and respectful treatment. This study contributes significantly to raising awareness in society about communication ethics towards individuals with mental disabilities. By applying the Islamic values taught through these hadiths, it is hoped that society can increase awareness and practise more empathetic communication, encouraging and providing appropriate space for individuals with mental disabilities in all aspects of their lives.
