      This article investigates teaching practices of discursive genres in 5th grade classes during remote teaching. For this, it takes as corpus of analysis, collating the speeches of teachers and students from public schools in the city of Jardim de Piranhas - RN. As a theoretical and methodological assumption, it takes a sociological and qualitative approach, theoretically directed by the dialogical perspective of language study, more precisely the Bakhtinian perspective. In addition, it resumes studies about portuguese language teaching, such as those by Antunes (2003; 2009), Beth Marcuschi (2010), Marcuschi (2008) and we dialogue with studies by authors such as Saviani and Galvão (2020) about remote teaching. Methodologically, we used, as an instrument of data collection, questionnaires for teachers and students, with open and closed questions, and work plans of the cooperating teachers. And we adopted collation in the analysis and understanding of the data. As a result, we found that the following genres appear in the analyzed discourses: the fable, the poem, the legend, the advertisement, the interview, and the recipe. As for the methodology, we found that the teaching of these genres was based on reading and writing activities of texts sent in the class WhatsApp groups, corrected and later returned. Moreover, we verified, in the teachers' and students' speeches, the reference to several challenges, obstacles and difficulties faced during the remote teaching. Among them: the lack of materials and technological devices, the lack of parental supervision, the weakened interaction, among others. In view of these results, we conclude that the teaching of discourse genres in realities such as remote teaching is a great challenge. However, even with so many obstacles, we noticed the teachers' effort in trying to offer a mother tongue teaching based on discourse genres within the available conditions.
