نبذة مختصرة : The potential benefit of Advanced Traffic Control Systems (ATCS) to ease traffic congestion in large cities around the world is well known. However, the application of the systems in large cities in developing countries is noteworthy because of specific local conditions commonly occur in the large cities. The aim of this paper is to analyze the comparison of advanced traffic control systems and fixed time traffic control systems performance in a large city in a developing country. A large road network in Bandung, Indonesia was used as a case study. GETRAM (The Generic Environment for Traffic Analysis and Modeling) was conducted to evaluate the performance of the systems. The results of evaluation found that the application of ATCS was better than Fixed Time traffic control system at intersections with 5 legs, closed to adjacent intersections, and at intersections lied in CBD.
