International audience ; Women occupy important roles in families and communities, yet their health specificities limit their agency and maintain the glass ceiling. The objective was to identify factors influencing women's decision-making at maternity and during menopause. Documents (373 pages) from an interdisciplinary conference were analyzed inductively using critical theory. Women's agency is influenced by (1) regulatory power and financial circumstances; (2) health professional power; and (3) culture, society and family. The wellbeing of newborns drive social and health professionals' behavior. Around menopause, women often feel left alone at moments of healthrelated decision-making. To enhance women's agency, a multi-dimensional approach should be considered.
