نبذة مختصرة : This study on educational tests and their contribution to education from the perspective of Europe and the Americas, has as its main goal to conduct a historical approach by country, namely: Spain, Germany, France, the United States, Mexico, Perú, Venezuela, Argentina and Colombia in the early twentieth century, so that we understand and reflect on the way these tests were conceived and developed. It is really significant to acknowledge that these tests served to support education, they advanced mainly from medicine, psychology, educational psychology and professional practice; the pioneers were Binet and Simon. France was the epicenter of these studies and from there they spread to Europe and America. One of the great challenges is understanding their evolution and the way they were conceived throughout the history of education, the history of IQ test or psychological or psychometric tests, applied to subjects with a measurement instrument based on IQ results, implemented and monitored. Hence the need to analyze educational tests and their contribution to education from Europe to Colombia. To achieve this, primary and secondary sources found in the General Archive of the Nation, the Posada Archive Fund at UPTC, the Faculty of Education, and the Jorge Palacios Preciado Library were used, as well as other documents from secondary sources. ; El presente estudio sobre los test educativos y sus aportes a la educación desde Europa y América tiene como fin primordial realizar una mirada histórica por país, principalmente España, Alemania, Francia, Estados Unidos, México, Perú, Venezuela, Argentina y Colombia a comienzos del siglo XX, de tal forma que se comprenda y reflexione sobre la manera como se concibieron y desarrollaron.
