      The present research is developed in the scope of the professional master's degree in management and evaluation of public education (PPGP) of the center of public policies and evaluation of education of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (CAED/ UFJF). O management case studied discussed how the Municipal Secretariat of Education (SEMED) can contributed, together with teachers, to meet the needs of requirements of the legislation regarding the provision of teacher training in a way that meet the requirements of the legislation regarding scoring for progression teacher in the teaching career of the Public School System of the Municipality of São Luís, in Maranhão. This theme was selected due to the involvement of the researcher with the issue, as a teacher and trainer at SEMED in São Luís, being inserted in the educational context, in addition to being familiar with both the teacher training and performance evaluation. The guiding question research is: how SEMED can contribute, together with Teachers, to the compliance with the requirements of the legislation regarding punctuation for progression in career in teaching career in the municipality of São Luís? As a theoretical framework, de used Candau (1999), Cassettari (2014), Fernandes (2008), Gatti (2008; 2010, 2012; 2013a; 2013b; 2014a; 2014b; 2017; 2019), Lück (2009), Nóvoa (1991;2017), Imbernón (2011), among others. The general objective of this research was to analyze the policy of continuing education in order to identify their weaknesses regarding the fulfillment of the score firm professional career progressive, in order to make propositions with the aim of advancing professional career progression.
