      The article discusses the importance of STEM education in the context of rapid technological progress and its role in training qualified personnel in the field of technical innovation. The author analyzes the implementation of STEM education in the educational process of Ukraine. In particular, the introduction into the system of general secondary education, the work of the National Center of the National Academy of Sciences and the organization of various competitions are considered. The article is based on theoretical methods and analysis of scientific literature and legislation. The study also describes government initiatives to introduce STEM education, including the provision of equipment for educational institutions. The article discusses the stages of STEM implementation in primary, middle, and high schools. The author gives examples of how LEGO constructors and other equipment for STEM classrooms are being implemented in the educational process. An important aspect is the description of the criteria given in the announcement of the Ministry of Education and Science "On accepting applications for equipping classrooms and STEM laboratories" for selecting general secondary education institutions to receive equipment. According to the results of the study, it was found that general secondary education institutions in our country are gradually receiving STEM classrooms with the support of the government and regional administrations during 2020-2023. However, the realities of our country today do not allow for the coverage of all students of general secondary education institutions of our country with this type of activity. Our country is successfully developing an educational system focused on fostering creative thinking and laying the groundwork for STEM education among the younger generation.
