نبذة مختصرة : Background: The scientific literature shows an important number of treatments in the management of lateral elbow tendinopathy, with no clear consensus on the best possible approach to this. Recent studies suggest an impact between homolateral weakening of the scapular fixator muscles and increased pain and decreased functional ability in patients with lateral elbow tendinopathy. Strengthening these muscles in addition to conventional local rehabilitation could help to reduce pain, increase function, and prevent the risk of long-term recurrence. Objectives: The aim of this review is to evaluate the effect of scapular muscles strengthening in the management of lateral elbow tendinopathy. Methods: The approach was based of research wich were conducted from September 2022 to February 2023 on scientific databases such as PubMed, PEDro, Cochrane, Mendeley and Google Scholar. The selection of articles was based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria to include four randomized clinical trials in this review. Potential bias was assessed using the PEDro scale. Results: This review includes 3 assessment criteria: PRTEE score, pain (VAS) and pain-free grip strength (PFG). 139 patients with lateral elbow tendinopathy were included across the included clinical trials. The results show that scapular muscle strengthening results in a statistically significant improvement in pain reduction, as well as an increase in long-term function compared to the conventional group. Moreover, this training seems to have an interest on these three criteria but requires additional and more powerful studies to really show its applicability in clinical practice. Conclusion: Scapular muscle strengthening can be included in the treatment of tennis elbow but needs more research with larger population to have more meaningful results. ; Introduction : la littérature scientifique montre une variété importante de traitements dans la prise en charge de la tendinopathie latérale du coude, sans consensus précis sur la meilleure approche possible de sa ...
