EXPOSIÇÃO NUMISMÁTICA COMO PRÁTICA DE MEDIAÇÃO CULTURAL EM BIBLIOTECA: caso SENAI Linhares – ES

NUMISMATIC EXHIBITION AS A PRACTICE OF CULTURAL MEDIATION IN A LIBRARY: the case of Senai Linhares - ES Abstract: This study aims to present numismatic exhibition as a cultural mediation practice developed throughout the year 2018 by the librarian of a private vocational school in the city of Linhares, in the state of Espírito Santo. Documentary research, bibliographic research, and interviews were employed as research methods. The results are described as follows: Initially, a brief theoretical framework is presented regarding the theme 'cultural mediation practice' in libraries. Subsequently, the project is described, highlighting the achieved results as a mediation practice. In the realm of results, it was observed that numismatic documents such as banknotes and coins were utilized, resources provided by the school community for the composition of the exhibition. It was possible to conclude that the mentioned practice falls within the field of mediation, as it integrated, meaning it succeeded in engaging the public in cultural activities within the library space, thereby democratizing the space. Furthermore, there was mediation of historical knowledge (recognition of historical figures and dates) and financial education (currency conversion).
