Drainage Process of a Myxoid Cyst

Conventional digital photography (Nikon D700) External flash - Nikon SB900 105mm lens This set of images shows the drainage process of a Myxoid cyst on a patient's toe. This was done in the clinic room by the dermatology consultant, who used a sterile needle to pierce the toe. A photograph was taken every three seconds in order to document the process. Before the drainage process began a trans-illumination photograph (top left) was taken in order to illuminate the various pockets of fluid with the cyst.
