نبذة مختصرة : Objective: to investigate if using menstrual cup is an intrauterine device (IUDs) expulsion risk factor. Material and Method: analytical, observational, retrospective, longitudinal study of primary care women who use or formerly used an IUD. Patients were included by anonymous questionnaire in Paris from March 2019 to September 2019 in two general practice clinics, a gynecology practice and family planning. The qualitative variables were compared among users of cutting or not with Chi-2 or Fisher tests. Quantitative variables were compared with Student or Mann-Whitney tests according to the distribution of the variable. The odds ratios were computed with the univariate and multivariate logistic models by adjusting for age, IUD parameters and rule abundance. All statistical analyzes were done on R (version 3.6.1) with the Mice package for imputation (Multivariate imputation). P <0.05 were considered statistically significant. Results: a total of 206 patients completed the questionnaire, 24 patients were excluded according to the exclusion criteria. 72 used or used a CM with their IUD, 110 used other hygienic protections. 15 patients expelled their IUDs, 73% of users of CM compared to 27% without CM. The analysis found a odds ratio of 4.78 with a 95% confidence interval between [1.45-15.79] and a value of 0.011. Discussion: the proportion of women using a menstrual cup seems to be increasing steadily or especially in women using an intrauterine device. In this study, the simultaneous use of menstrual cup suggests an increased risk of IUD expulsion. The low sampling and methodology nevertheless represent biases. Prospective research on a larger scale is needed to fully explore the relationship between the use of menstrual hygiene products and IUD expulsions. ; Objectif : rechercher si l’utilisation de la coupe menstruelle (CM) est un facteur de risque d’expulsion des dispositifs intra-utérins (DIU).
