      The aim of study was to investigate the opinion of Physical Education teachers on academic training for teaching work with students with disabilities. The sample consisted of 21 Physical Education teachers from the public and private teaching network of Boa Vista/RR, of both genres and with average age of 37.6 years. For data collection was used questionnaire adapted from Mendes (2013), composed of 09 objective questions. The results were analyzed using descriptive statistics. We found that: a) disciplines aimed at inclusion in academic education, most teachers (33%) had only one discipline, followed by others (24%) who attended two disciplines. b) regarding the participation of courses in Adapted Physical Education, most of the teachers (76%) participated in courses; c) in relation to preparation to teach inclusive classes in Physical Education classes, (57%) report feeling prepared, followed by (38%) who do not feel prepared. Thus, we conclude that, for teachers participating in the research, it is essential the inclusion of disciplines who aimed work with people with disabilities in higher education, as it may help future teachers to overcome challenges of the classroom and contribute their teaching methods. Also, academic formation and participation in specific courses in Adapted Physical Education can be differential for the performance of Physical Education teachers with students with disabilities at school.
