نبذة مختصرة : Approximately 20% of expenditure in pathological testing is allocated to routine chronic disease management. Many requests for testing are overprescribed, arbitrary and avoidable, while others may be forgotten or overlooked. BIOCLIC has been developed to assist healthcare professionals rationalizing the testing process for chronic disease. Methods: BIOCLIC have been enhanced with 44 algorithms pertaining to the monitoring of chronic diseases in General Practice, Maternity as well as rarer diseases which particularly require careful diagnosis and follow up. These algorithms have been developed by integrating official French health system and European guidelines. A sample group of general practitioners evaluated these algorithms through a questionnaire, providing subjective feedback on relevance, ease of use, interface quality, and overall satisfaction. The pilot study involved 32 full-time, locum, and trainee general practitioners who used a beta version of the website. Results: overall, there was satisfaction with the ease of use, relevance, and interface quality. The System usability scale (SUS) questionnaire yielded a rating of 77.4/100, and 87.5% of finding the proposed algorithms relevant. Discussion: BIOCLIC's strengths lie in its accessibility, intuitive design, and quality of information management. It is an exciting tool to help in the selection of appropriate pathological tests and has the potential for expansion into other sectors as well as integration into artificial intelligence initiatives. Conclusion: general practitioners increasingly using Medical decision support systems (MDSS). This pilot study of BIOCLIC will enhance pathology management and endorses the need for further development of such tools in General Practice.
