      This article presents a reflection on the experience of young adolescents at school and their digital literacy and how their ability to use technology represents a challenge to educational institutions. The concept of digital literacy will be discussed as a social practice with the results presented in an empirical study in two distinct practical contexts: the Educational Institute and Internet cafés. ; Cet article présente une réflexion autour de l’expérience scolaire et l’alphabétisation numérique des jeunes adolescents dont l’ utilisation des TIC constitue un défi pour l’institution scolaire. Il y est question du concept d’alphabétisation numérique comme pratique sociale et y sont présentés les résultats d’une étude empirique dans deux contextes d’utilisation différents: le lycée et le club Internet. ; Este artigo apresenta uma reflexão em torno da experiência escolar e alfabetização digital dos jovens, baseada num estudo empírico da experiência digital de adolescentes cujas práticas com as tecnologias constituem um desafio para a instituição escolar. Discute-se o conceito de alfabetização digital como prática social e apresentam-se os resultados de um estudo empírico baseado na observação e em entrevistas em contextos distintos de prática.
