      The research that gave rise to this Course Completion Work took shape from the experiences in the University Extension. The present work has research object the contributions of popular education, the scope of university extension, to the training of school managers, in a perspective of democratic management. We opted for a theoretical-methodological approach of a phenomenological character of qualitative nature, having a university extension project as a case study. For collection, a semi-structured interview with 3 (three) open questions was carried out, applied through the focus group with the participation of 5 (five) interviewees, all of whom were participants of the Training of Managers in Popular Education course-FOGEP. This action resulted in training for school managers from the perspective of Popular Education. The theoretical analysis took into account the contributions of Freire (1983), Alcantara and Carlos (2018), Scocuglia (1999), Gil (1999), Godoy (1995), Pimenta (1999), Pimenta; Lima (2005-2006), Bardin (1977), Luck (1997); Luck (2011); Cruz (2011), Vasconcelos (2011). In the academic universe, dialogue with two TCCs: Santos (2018), Bezerra (2019). Regarding the documents consulted, accessed the Federal Constitution of 1988, the LDB (1996) and Forproex (2012). In end, we conclude that the University Extension, by providing training spaces to the external community, promotes the qualification of professionals in a significant way, since the relevance of this interrelation about the training process, through the extension, shows how important the actions aimed at training educational managers in front of social demands. ; A pesquisa que deu origem a este Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso ganhou corpo a partir das vivências na Extensão Universitária.
