      Fluor je štetan element za ljudski organizam, odnosno unos fluora mora biti kontroliran iz razloga što prekomjerna količina uzrokuje brojne zdravstvene probleme. Prema Svjetskoj zdravstvenoj organizaciji (WHO), maksimalna preporučena koncentracija fluorida u vodi za piće iznosi 1,5 mg/L. Metodom adsorpcije moguće je vrlo uspješno vršiti pročišćavanje otpadnih voda, a samim time i povišenih koncentracija fluorida. Cilj ovoga rada je ispitivanje mehanizma adsorpcije fluorida iz modelnih otopina različitih koncentracija na adsorbens koji je pripremljen od ljuske lješnjaka pri čemu je utvrđeno kako je navedeni adsorbens pogodan za uklanjanje manjih udjela fluorida iz otopine. ; Fluoride is a hazardous element for the human body, fluoride intake has to be controlled because excessive amounts cause many health problems. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the maximum recommended fluoride concentration in drinking water is 1,5 mg / L. Adsorption is a very successful method for wastewater treatment and high fluoride concentrations. The aim of this research is to investigate the fluoride adsorption mechanism from water solution of different concentrations on adsorbents prepared from hazelnut shells, where it has been found that adsorbent is suitable for removing a lower fluoride content from the solution.
