The church is a social institution that is configured as a set of values, beliefs and rules of the game that permeate the individual; In particular, the Protestant Christian Church has been distinguished by the presence of ecclesial authorities who have played a decisive role in the behavior of its parishioners, not only in moral or spiritual terms, but also in politics. Hence, it is possible to understand a type of political culture influenced by religion, as a definitive factor in the political decisions of a society. In this sense, the fundamental objective is to understand the attitude of the parishioners in the face of a relevant political situation in Colombia; in this case the plebiscite held on October 2, which sought to endorse the peace agreement between the government and the FARC-EP. With this mechanism the citizens were asked if they supported the final agreement for the end of the conflict and the construction of a stable and lasting peace; surprisingly it won by a small difference who voted NO. Finally, through a perspective that involves the media and the political culture, it is possible to know the political actions of the parishioners, and the consequent attitude of the ecclesial authorities in the face of a certain event of national conjuncture; all with the aim of evoking an academic perspective within the framework of politics, culture, ideology and discourse. ; La iglesia es una institución social que se configura como un conjunto de valores, creencias y reglas de juego que permean al individuo; en particular, la iglesia cristiana protestante se ha distinguido por la presencia de autoridades eclesiales que han jugado un papel determinante en el comportamiento de sus feligreses, no solamente en términos morales o espirituales, sino políticos.
