REVALIDATION OF THE ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE INSTRUMENT FOR A PRIVATE HOSPITAL ; REVALIDAÇÃO DO INSTRUMENTO DE CULTURA ORGANIZACIONAL PARA UM HOSPITAL PRIVADO

The Brazilian Instrument for Assessment of Organizational Culture (IBACO) is one of the most used in the Brazilian context and, for this reason, it was chosen. The objective of this work was to revalidate IBACO, according to the perception of employees at a private hospital in Pernambuco. Therefore, the central procedures for adapting the IBACO items were developed, which together with social and demographic issues made up the questionnaire used in this study. Quantitative and descriptive-exploratory research was carried out. Three hundred and five valid questionnaires were collected and, for data analysis, the necessary steps for exploratory factor analysis (AFE) have been made. The revalidation of the instrument showed the following results: a) the 2 constructs that make up the organizational culture instrument (organizational values and practices) now have 6 dimensions each; b) the organizational values construct now has 28 items while the organizational practices construct has 23 items; and c) with this reorganization of the items and dimensions of the instrument, it proved to be clearer and more in line with the dimensions that formed the culture of the private hospital investigated, and could be used in other similar hospital contexts. ; O Instrumento Brasileiro para Avaliação da Cultura Organizacional (IBACO) é um dos mais utilizados no contexto brasileiro e, por esta razão, ele foi escolhido. Sendo assim, desenvolveram-se os procedimentos centrais de adaptação dos itens do IBACO, que juntamente com questões sociais e demográficas compuseram o questionário usado neste estudo.
