At the beginning of the XXI century, one can trace researchers’ efforts to study languages within the framework language – culture – ethnos – consciousness (mentality) that makes it possible to figure out the specifics of the structure of people’s mentality, thinking and cognition. The relevance of the research lies in the exploration aimed at identifying the peculiarities of verbalizing the ethnocultural concept of Ukr. ПОДОРОЖ (МАНДРІВКА) / Eng. TRAVEL (JOURNEY) in the paremiological fund of ethnicities representing Ukrainian and English linguistic cultures. In the first chapter "Methodology, aspects and terminological tools of the research" the theoretical postulates of the scientific research, its metalanguage, and methodology are described, the degree of investigation of the problem is demonstrated in all aspects, and the effective methods and techniques used in the research process are indicated.Chapter 2 “Verbalization of the ethnocultural concept ПОДОРОЖ (МАНДРІВКА) in paremic dictionaries of the Ukrainian linguistic culture” focuses on revealing the specific features of the concept verbalization ПОДОРОЖ (МАНДРІВКА) in authoritative dictionaries of paremies of the Ukrainian linguistic culture following the assigned objectives; a brief description of the content of the paremic collections selected for analysis is offered (their conceptual basis: structure, amount of material, methods of compiling, etc.); the semantic structure of the words that nominate the considered nominations of the concept and subconcepts is characterized, the conceptual meanings are distinguished and the etymons of concept names are characterized, and the origin of the concept nominations is clarified.
