This research is part of a larger research project entitled "Professional development and the Brazilian teaching career: dialogues with basic education teachers". The central objective of this study is to analyze the personal-professional profile of basic education teachers from state schools in the municipality of Amargosa. The qualitative research was developed with 77 teachers and content analysis was the methodological basis to discuss the results obtained. It was found that the majority of teachers are female, and as the stage of basic education advances, there is a predominance of males. Black and brown-skinned teachers make up the majority of the professionals investigated, strengthening the regionality of Bahia. Most of them are under 40 years old and a significant number of them have completed college education, continuing their training at post-graduate level. The workload is around 20 to 40 hours per week through temporary contracts, indicating a scarcity of public competitions in the state of Bahia and a precarization of the teaching work. Therefore, it is important that the government promotes actions for professional fixation through public contests, respecting the determination of the Brazilian legislation and strengthening the consolidation of Bahia's teachers. ; Este estudio forma parte de una investigación más amplia titulada “Desarrollo profesional y la carrera docente en Brasil: diálogos con profesores de Educación Básica”. El objetivo central de este estudio es analizar el perfil personal-profesional de los profesores de educación básica de las escuelas estatales de la ciudad de Amargosa, en el estado de Bahía.
