نبذة مختصرة : This commentary explores the ideas underlying Greek identity in electroacoustic music supported by a portfolio of original compositions. The research raises the question whether musical elements such as rhythms, instrumentation and themes that represent Greek music culture could be applied in electroacoustic music and the ways they affect the aesthetic result of a composition. Also, it explores the historic background of electroacoustic music in Greece and raises the question of national identity and the way it has been musically expressed. Elements like rhythm, instruments, forms and themes are presented in order to highlight signs of Greek identity in electroacoustic music. Additionally, works of other Greek electroacoustic composers are presented and analyzed in order to demonstrate examples of Greekness in their music. The research process led to a questionnaire survey that provided valuable data about culture in electroacoustic music among Greek electroacoustic composers. The discussion will refer to composers that experiment with elements of Greek music and culture in their compositions with particular emphasis on Georgia Spiropoulos and Dimitrios Savva. Through my portfolio of compositions I describe the way Greekness is presented in my works.
