Coordenação do cuidado na rede de atenção à saúde: enfoque na oncologia ; Coordination of care in the health care network: focus on oncology

Introduction: the non-communicable Diseases and Diseases are the major causes of illness and death in the world population, resulting from epidemiological and demographic transitions. Among them, cancer stands out, which can affect different organs and result in impaired quality of life. Objective: to evaluate the coordination of care in oncology between the services of the Health Care Network of the 4th Regional Health Coordination of Rio Grande do Sul State. Method: This is an evaluative, exploratory, descriptive study, with a qualitative approach, based on the theoretical Donabedian's proposal. The research was developed by managers and users of a Hematology and Oncology Unit of a Service Regulation Service at the University Hospital, in the regulation sector of the 4th Regional Health Coordination of Rio Grande do Sul and in the regulation sector of the Municipal Secretary of Health. Data collection took place between March and September 2019. The Research Ethics Committee of the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM) approved the project under no. 3.112.157 / 2019, CAAE: 04681218.5.0000.5346. Results: the evaluation of oncology care coordination enabled discussions and reflections about the challenges of oncology care coordination, the use of care coordination devices as well as the discontinuity of oncology care in Primary Health Care. The oncology is limited to the usage of health regulation systems. Concomitant to this and, from the perspective of the oncological patient, the guarantee of care coordination is the responsibility of the tertiary care, reinforcing that the Primary Health Care Services in the municipality of origin do not carry out follow-ups in the territory, being limited to referral to highly complex services. Conclusion: the coordination of cancer care in the 4th Regional Health Coordination presents challenges.
