نبذة مختصرة : This study discusses the effective teaching methods used by Al-Quran and Fardu Ain (KAFA) class teachers in teaching al-Quran tajwid in Kedah as stipulated by the Malaysian Standard Teacher (SGM). The KAFA program is a concept of religious education at the primary level to support and strengthen the existing Islamic education that has been set in the implementation of national education. The emphasis given in the program is the aspect of Quranic reading skills with tajwid and strengthening the basics of fard ain among primary school students, including knowledge of Arabic and Jawi writing skills. This study involved 210 teachers who teach in KAFA schools in Kedah. In general, this study used a quantitative design based with descriptive method and questionnaire as a research tool. The Cronbach’s alpha reliability level for all sections in the questionnaire was also high (> 0.9). Finally, the data was analyzed descriptively using SPSS software version 22 to obtain the frequency, percentage, mean score, and standard deviation. The results showed that the implementation of effective teaching methodology of KAFA teachers is at a moderate and high level. This study is expected to help teachers and school administrators to improve the quality of teaching, especially in the subject of tajwid al-Quran to be able to produce effective and excellent teaching.
