      The main purpose of this study was to reflect about the presence, or absence, of dance at school, observing its importance as a source of learning. Therefore, we searched for historical and social aspects that emphasize the insertion of dance as a significant tool in the school environment. This is a qualitative research with bibliographical and biographical sources, because it consists of relating theoretical support with memories and life trajectories, from the beginning of school life to the pedagogical training produced through dance. Thus, as sources were used: books, articles, videos, narratives of one's own history, observations and applicability of activities guided by dance. This study is essential to understand the importance of narratives in the formation process and to amplify the visibility and relevance of dance in the formation of subjects. We verified that our society, even with some changes, is still ruled by the power of body control and the dance presented in a reproductive way represents this. something we also saw was a minor evidence of dance in the classroom activities. In this way, the study also has the purpose of bringing the contact with the theme closer, arousing the interest of teachers for activities that have dance in the classroom. We concluded that Dance contributes significantly to our lives, as was seen in the narratives of the experiences lived and consolidated in the transformations caused by its applicability at school. It was possible to notice that the inclusion of dance in school contributes to the integral formation of the subject, because it makes them active agents in the processes of emotional, social and intellectual development. ; Este estudo teve o objetivo principal refletir sobre a presença, ou ausência, da dança na escola, observando a sua importância como fonte de aprendizagens.
