Seksuālās objektifikācijas saistība ar pornogrāfijas patēriņu vīriešiem un sievietēm ; Association Between Sexual Objectification and Pornography Consumption in Men and Women

Pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt, vai pastāv dzimumatšķirības pornogrāfijas patēriņa un seksuālās objektifikācijas saistībā. Pētījumā tika izmantotas divas aptaujas: pornogrāfijas lietošanas biežuma apakšskala (Szymanski & Stewart-Richardson, 2014) un sievietes ir seksa objekti apakšskala (Ward, 2002). Pētījuma izlase sastāvēja no 143 respondentiem vecumā no 18 līdz 54 gadiem, no kuriem 93 respondenti bija sievietes, 50 - vīrieši. Pētījumā iegūtie rezultāti atklāja statistiski nozīmīgi augstāku pornogrāfijas patēriņu vīriešiem nekā sievietēm. Vīrieši pornogrāfiju lieto biežāk par sievietēm. Starp pornogrāfijas patēriņu un seksuālo objektifikāciju parādījās statistiski nozīmīga un pozitīva, taču vāja korelācija. Nevar ar lielu varbūtību kategoriski apgalvot, ka cilvēki ar augstāku pornogrāfijas patēriņu, augstu seksuāli objektificē. Netika atrastas dzimumatšķirības abu mainīgo saistībā. ; The purpose of this study was to investigate whether there are gender differences in between pornography consumption and sexual objectification association. The study used two surveys – Frequency of Pornography Use Subscale (Szymanski & Stewart-Richardson, 2014) and Women are Sex Objects Subscale (Ward, 2002). The research sample consisted of 143 respondents vecumā no 18 līdz 54 gadiem, of which 93 were women and 50 were men. The results of the study revealed a statistically significantly higher pornography consumption in men than in women. Men use pornography more often than women. A statistically significant and positive but weak correlation emerged between pornography consumption and sexual objectification. It cannot be categorically stated that people with higher pornography consumption will highly sexually objectify. No gender differences were found in the association between the two variables.
