نبذة مختصرة : Along the course of the Kapuas River, certain areas are utilized for freshwater fish farming. One notable region in West Kalimantan Province, where numerous communities engage in fish farming, is Kubu Raya Regency, specifically in Kapur Village, making use of the Kapuas River waters. At present, fish farmers rely on commercially-produced fish pellets, which are relatively costly compared to producing their own fish feed pellets. The current fish pellet machine generates a considerable amount of residual waste, necessitating speed adjustments by varying the pulley's diameter. The research's main aim is to determine the ideal pulley diameter to achieve efficient operation of the fish pellet grinding machine, achieving a capacity of 20 kg per hour. The experimental method is employed as the research approach. The parameters tested include different driving pulley sizes: 2 inches, 3 inches, 4 inches, and 5 inches, along with a 10-inch shaft pulley, ensuring consistent V-belt tension for each pulley variation. The research findings indicate that the 2-inch pulley yields the highest capacity and the least residual waste in the fish pellet grinding process, producing 25.549 kg per hour with an average residue of 205.66 grams. Conversely, the smallest capacity and the largest residual waste are attained by the 5-inch pulley, resulting in a capacity of 5.34 kg per hour with an average residue of 622.66 grams during the fish pellet grinding process. The existing 4-inch pulley in the fish pellet grinding machine achieves a capacity of 7.608 kg per hour and produces an average residual waste of 584.33 grams.
