نبذة مختصرة : Objective: to evaluate factors related to noncompliance with treatment for tuberculosis, according to the size of the range of services. Method: this evaluative qualitative, which used the thematic oral history as a methodological reference. The study included nine users who had abandoned as a criterion for termination of the treatment of tuberculosis in two districts of the metropolitan area of João Pessoa, Paraíba after approved by the Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Paraíba with protocol number 067/08. The empirical material was produced from July to September 2008 and analyzed by the technique of discourse analysis. Results: we observed as related to cessation of treatment: alcoholism, lack of information about the disease, the illusion of healing before the end of treatment and the large number of tablets taken. How weaknesses in the provision of services available, it was found that the User is difficult to access testing, inputs and social incentives (food stamps, food stamps). Conclusion: considering the size of the services available, it is believed to prevent the abandonment of TB treatment, is necessary to rescue the notion of subjectivity of care, and to strengthen the principle of integrated and intersectoral approach in guiding the actions and health services.
