      Marijuana usage and sexual activity of 361 unmarried. University of Houston students were examined with respect to strength of religious interest and upward mobility. The data were collected by questionnaires and all variables were intercorrelated. The results indicated: (a) a positive relationship between marijuana usage and frequency and variety of sexual activity, (b) a negative relationship between marijuana usage and strong religious interest, (c) a negative relationship between marijuana usage and upward mobility, (d) a negative relationship between sexual activity and strong religious interest, and (e) a negative relationship between sexual activity and upward mobility. Conclusions were that marijuana usage and frequent and varied sexual activity were significant aspects of the life-style of one of two types of sexually active students. Both sexual enjoyment and enjoyment of marijuana appeared to be two aspects of a general ability to enjoy bodily experiences. ; Psychology, Department of
