نبذة مختصرة : The aim of the study: To assess the influence of age and weight on the parameters of the area and perimeter of the thyroid follicles. For the study 15 Ross 308 domestic fowl thyroid glands were taken and separated by age group: 30 days, 47 days and 60 days. Histological microslides were prepared from the thyroid glands, which were further investigated and statistical analysis have been done. The statistical analysis revealed that the age of the chickens affects the mean follicular perimeter, the mean maximum follicular area, the mean follicular perimeter of the thyroid follicular parameters (P <0.05) with increasing age – these parameters increase together. Each additional day of age increases the mean follicular perimeter by 3.83 μm, the mean largest follicle area by 2991 μm2, and the mean largest follicular perimeter by 20.49 μm. Chicken weight affects these thyroid follicular parameters (P <0.05): the mean follicular area, the mean peak follicular area, and the mean largest follicular perimeter. Increasing the chicken weight by one gram, the mean follicular perimeter increases by 0.07 μm; mean maximum follicle area by 42.21 μm2; average perimeter of the largest follicle by 0.3 μm
