      This study determined the effects of individual-level as well as school-level factors on adolescents' perception of sexual behaviors in order to understand the implementation challenge of sexual education in high schools. The survey was conducted at 30 high schools throughout Okinawa, Japan, which included questionnaires for students, teachers, and schools. Self-administered questionnaires were distributed to 1,144 students in grade 11th and 1,555 teachers. A survey of the school regarding sexual education was mainly answered by the vice-principals of the schools. The questions concerning a normative consciousness and an intention on sexual behaviors, and an attitude on AIDS were analyzed. Logistic regression models showed that the normative consciousness was associated with self-esteem and alcohol drinking in boys. In girls, the normative consciousness was associated with talking with parents, alcohol consumption, and attending school in which many teachers consider that sexual education should be conducted by all staff. Sexual intent was related to alcohol consumption in boys, and talking with parents in girls. An attitude on AIDS was related to alcohol consumption and being comfortable at home in boys; and living with both parents, being comfortable at home, and attending school in which many teachers consider that sexual education is very important in girls. This study suggests that students' perception of sexual behaviors is more likely to be influenced by individual-level factors compared with school-level factors. ; 紀要論文 ; http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501
