نبذة مختصرة : Resumo. O texto focaliza a condição e formação dos professores iniciantes no Brasil, com o objetivo de examinar o quadro destes profissionais no sistema de ensino bem como os programas de inserção e formação existentes. Inclui indicações sobre a pesquisa realizada em relação a este ciclo da profissão docente. Toma como ponto de partida, estudos e investigações desenvolvidos pelo Grupo de Pesquisa Práxis Educativa: dimensões e processos, e autores que abordam o tema. Aponta para a urgência de ampliação de programas específicos de formação para o professor iniciantes oportunizando acompanhamento e orientação aos professores para contribuir com a realização de uma prática profissional para além do ensaio e erro. Abstract. The text focuses on the status and education of beginning teachers in Brazil with the objective of examining the framework of these professionals in the education systems well as integration programs and formation available. Includes information on the investigation in relation to this cycle of the teaching profession. It takes as its starting point, studies and research developed by Praxis Research Group Education: dimensions and processes, and authors that approach the theme. Points to the urgency of scaling up specific training programs for beginners teacher providing opportunities accompaniment and orientation for teachers to contribute to the achievement of professional practice beyond the trial and error.
