Optimization of the mathematics learning process by implementing personalized tutoring through a chatbot ; Optimización del proceso de aprendizaje de matemáticas mediante la implementación de tutorías personalizadas a través de un chatbot

Introduction: The use of artificial intelligence (AI) has grown significantly in different fields, such as communication. AI-based chatbots are one of the most significant advances in this field, allowing efficient and autonomous interaction with users through mobile devices and applications such as WhatsApp and Telegram. In education, chatbot has proven to be a valuable tool for providing personalized mathematics instruction, improving the learning experience, and facilitating access to information. Objective: The objective of this research is to design a chatbot for personalized tutoring aimed at optimizing the mathematics learning process in tenth-grade EGB students from the Jorge Washington Educational Unit of Sigchos Canton. Methodology. For the development of the research, a mixed approach with action-participation was used. An empirical level of research was also used; the population consisted of 22 students from the tenth year of the Jorge Washington Educational Unit. Results: The results showed that the chatbot was useful in solving exercises interactively (45.45%), followed by instant answers to their questions (36.36%), and many students (90.91%) would recommend the use of the chatbot in teaching Mathematics classes in other parallels. Conclusion. Despite these challenges, the use of chatbot in education remains promising, has broad student support, and has great potential to transform teaching and learning in Mathematics and other subjects. ; Introducción: El uso de la inteligencia artificial (IA) ha crecido significativamente en diferentes campos, entre ellos en la comunicación.
