Investigating total flavonoid content and antioxidance of ethanol extracts from Ruellia simplex C.WRIGHT ; Khảo sát hàm lượng flavonoid toàn phần và hoạt tính chống oxy hóa của cao ethanol chiết từ hoa chiều tím (Ruellia simplex C. Wright)

This study investigated the natural compounds with biological activity in Ruellia simplex C.Wright flower such as steroids, flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, tannins, and terpenoids, etc. The total flavonoid content as well as the antioxidant capacity of two ethanol extracts (E96 and E80) extracted from Ruellia simplex C.Wright flower were also studied. Results indicated that Ruellia simplex C.Wright flowers contained flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins and terpenoids, but not steroid or saponin compounds. Total flavonoid content in E96 and E80 were 7.13 and 0.98 mg QE/g extract, respectively. The antioxidant capacity studied by DPPH free radical neutralization method showed that the percentage of 50% inhibition of DPPH free radicals (IC50) of E96 and E80 were 0.089 and 0.242 mg/mL, respectively. The reference standard was ascorbic acid (IC50=0.02 mg/mL). ; Nghiên cứu này được thực hiện nhằm khảo sát sự hiện diện của một số nhóm hợp chất tự nhiên trong hoa chiều tím như steroid, flavonoid, alkaloid, saponin, tannin, terpenoid … Đồng thời, hàm lượng flavonoid toàn phần cũng như khả năng chống oxy hoá của hai loại cao ethanol (cao E96 và cao E80) chiết từ hoa chiều tím cũng được khảo sát. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy hoa chiều tím có chứa các nhóm hợp chất flavonoid, alkaloid, tanin và terpenoid; không chứa steroid và saponin. Hàm lượng flavonoid toàn phần trong cao E96 và cao E80 lần lượt là 7,13 và 0,98 mg QE/g cao chiết. Kết quả khảo sát khả năng chống oxy hóa bằng phương pháp trung hòa gốc tự do DPPH cho thấy, phần trăm ức chế 50% gốc tự do DPPH (IC50) của cao E96 và cao E80 lần lượt là 0,089 và 0,242 mg/mL. Chất chuẩn đối chứng là ascorbic acid (IC50=0,02 mg/mL).
