How do we obtain and share knowledge about the phenomenal and qualitative aspects of a given experience? In this study, we discuss this issue and elaborate some fundamental parameters for the epistemology of phenomenal knowledge. The work dialogues with Cath's (2019) model for categorization of knowledge of experiences. We suggest that phenomenal knowledge follows a structure by degrees and that it is possible to make epistemic and phenomenal progress towards a given experience without having that experience for yourself. We also discuss the role of the arts, and more specifically of literature, in the face of the epistemology that we propose.
