Gastos com o enfrentamento à Covid-19 no exercício de 2020: estudo comparativo nos estados do nordeste brasileiro

The pandemic caused by the new coronavirus has caused worldwide concern due to its potential for spread, as well as its impacts on social, political and economic fields. In view of the speed and reduction of bureaucracy in the processes, Federal Law No. 13.979/2020, of February 6, 2020, was enacted, which provides for procedures for facing the coronavirus. This Law allows public agencies to acquire or contract, without bidding, goods and services, including works and supplies, intended to meet public health emergencies. In view of this, the study on expenditures on confronting Covid-19 in northeastern Brazil region aims to highlight health expenditures in the financial year 2020. In methodological terms, this is a descriptive, bibliographical and qualitative research. According to the results, of the total evidenced by the states, Pernambuco was the one that has allocated the most resources to the pandemic with 30.61%, followed by Ceará 25.13%. On the other hand, Pauí was the one that has allocated least resources to the pandemic, with 0,96%, followed by Sergipe 1.08%, Paraíba 2.69%, Alagoas 6.79%, Rio Grande do Norte 7.05%, Maranhão 9.84% and Bahia 15,86 %. It is noticed that although all were affected, the health crisis had different results among the states in the region analyzed in terms of health expenditures, confirmed cases and related deaths. In the search for information about expenditures to fight the disease, it was possible to identify that the states have shown information on the allocation of resources, but without a standard that can facilitate monitoring and social control. ; A pandemia causada pelo novo coronavírus provocou uma preocupação mundial devido ao seu potencial de propagação, bem como seus impactos nos campos sociais, políticos e econômicos.
