      This study evaluates the characteristics of food consumption by 15 families in the fishing village of Emboaca (State of Ceará, northeast of Brazil), who recorded their protein intake during 45 days (2017-2018). Fish and chicken were equivalent percentages in consumption frequency, making up 82% of the animal protein in family meals. Fish represents an average annual consumption of 52 kg per capita. At least 14 species of fish made up the meals of the families evaluated, with emphasis on ariacó, biquara, arraia, cavala and serra, which together accounted 76% of the records. Marine fish are considered an important source of animal protein as economic base for families in Emboaca. The study indicates that the residents of the community remain resistant and resilient face to regional changes promoted by tourism in the last two decades, and the adversities imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. It concludes that artisanal fishing and the consumption of marine fish are strong community aggregators, fundamental for maintaining food security and local cultural practices. ; Este estudio evalua las características del consumo de alimentos en 15 familias de la villa de pescadores de Emboaca (Estado de Ceará, nordeste del Brazil), que registraron su consumo de proteínas en el almuerzo y la cena, por un período de 45 días (2017-2018). Pescados fueron consumidos en media 5,25 (± 1,09) días a la semana, con un consumo diario per cápita estimado en 206 g (± 0,08 g). El pescado es considerado una importante fuente de proteína animal, como base alimentar y económica para las familias de la comunidad de Emboaca. El estudio indica que los pobladores de la comunidad se mantienen resistentes y resilientes ante a los cambios regionales impulsados por el turismo en las últimas dos décadas, y las adversidades impuestas por la pandemia del COVID19.
