      This work, in the field of Didactics of Literature, addresses the process of formation of the literary reader in the school environment in Goiás (Brazil) and Galicia (Spain), focusing on the teaching staff. The objectives are to present and discuss results related to the description and analysis of the reading behavior of the Literature teachers of the federal schools located in Goiás and of Secondary Education Institutes (IES) in Galicia, as well as to reflect on the relevance of the teacher-reader in the formation of the student-reader. This is a mixed-focus investigation, predominantly descriptive, whose data were collected through the application of an online questionnaire to literature teachers in this context, based on the dialogic perspective of literature, based on interdisciplinary references, such as Bakhtin (2003), Ballester (2015), Cosson (2014a, 2014b, 2020), Colomer (1991, 2005) and Dalvi (2013, 2018). The results reveal that the research participants are readers of literature, with a clear preference for printed books and that they select their literary readings mainly due to their personal predilections and their literary knowledge, linking such choices to the pragmatism of the adoption of the work in the classroom. ; Este trabajo, en el campo de la Didáctica de la Literatura, aborda el proceso de formación del lector literario en el ámbito escolar de Goiás (Brasil) y Galicia (España), centrándose en el profesorado.
