نبذة مختصرة : To the English philosopher William Whewell, the multiplicity of observations and the refinement of results reached during the centuries, through an elaborated form of inductivism, allows us to understand science as developing towards necessary and universal truths, beyond the limits of the psychologism and particular point of view. Intuition holds a crucial role in this process that has received different interpretations from commentators. The epistemological status of intuition and in what proportion it is placed in the process of discovering truths are issues we will analyze in this paper.
