Describir y prescribir: el cine español sobre la Guerra Civil como fábrica de memoria. Propuesta de un modelo interpretativo

Además de ser un medio de expresión artística y una floreciente industria cultural, la cinematografía constituye una poderosa herramienta para configurar imaginarios y memorias colectivas. Este artículo propone un modelo de análisis que permite evaluar y comparar los cambiantes e incluso contradictorios mensajes que sobre un mismo acontecimiento histórico puede lanzar la gran pantalla. La metodología es aplicada sobre el caso concreto de la Guerra Civil española y de sus consecuencias en la cinematografía española de ficción. El procedimiento revela la doble y simultánea capacidad que tiene el llamado séptimo arte, al abordar temas históricos, para describir hechos del pasado y prescribir actitudes en el presente. ; Besides being a means of artistic expression and a flourishing cultural industry, cinema is a powerful tool to create imaginaries and collective memories. This article proposes a model of analysis that allows to evaluate and to compare the changing and event contradictory messages than on a historical phenomenon can launch the big screen. This methodology is applied on concrete case of the Spanish civil war and its consequences in the Spanish cinematography of fiction. The procedure reveals the double and simultaneous ability of the seventh arte, when it addresses historical themes, to describe the past and to prescribe attitudes in the present. ; peerReviewed
