نبذة مختصرة : This thesis is concerned with the analysis of some carbonyl group containing drugs, namely; cyclopentolate hydrochloride, cinchocaine hydrochloride and betamethasone valerate combination and zofenopril calcium. In this work, stability study was carried out on cyclopentolate hydrochloride with the co-formulated drug phenylephrine hydrochloride and the combination of cinchocaine hydrochloride with betamethasone valerate. Several stability-indicating methods were developed for the determination of the cited drugs. These methods include; spectrophotometric, chromatographic and potentiometric using ion selective electrodes.Different analytical techniques were applied for determination of zofenopril calcium in its binary mixture with hydrochlorothiazide as well as in the presence of two of hydrochlorothiazide major and toxic impurities, namely; chlorothiazide and salamide. The applied methods were chromatographic and capillary zone electrophoresis ones. The aim of the present work was to develop simple, reliable and sensitive analytical methods for determination of the studied drugs in raw materials, in presence of their degradation products and/or related impurities, and in their pharmaceutical formulations and/or in rabbit aqueous humor with the co-formulated drugs. Method validation was assessed according to the ICH guidelines. The obtained results were statistically compared to the official ones with no significant difference between them. Keywords: Betamethasone valerate, Capillary electrophoresis, Chemometry, Chromatography, Cinchocaine hydrochloride, Cyclopentolate hydrochloride, Hydrochlorothiazide, Ion selective electrodes, Phenylephrine hydrochloride, Spectrophotometry, Zofenopril calcium.
