      The aim of the research. To analyze the role of the family in the development of children talented for sports. Research objectives: 1. Identify family support for sport-talented children; 2. Assess the expectations of talented children and coaches in the role of the family; 3. To analyze the possibilities and obstacles of family support for talented children. Research methods. 20 subjects participated in the qualitative study - 10 children, 5 parents, 5 coaches. Subjects were selected based on theoretical targeted, convenient, and voluntary selection. A semistructured interview was chosen for data collection, and qualitative content analysis was used for data analysis. Results. All respondents singled out the existing family support - financial related to expenses and transportation, emotional - related to encouragement and motivation; educational (moral) - related to the establishment of the relationship between learning and sports and educational advice. Children’s expectations for family support were emotional and physical activity expectations. The coaches’ expectations for family support were an emotional contribution to the expectations of proper upbringing. The children singled out the improvement of family support in maintenance in competition and promotion of independence. Coaches singled out these support areas for improvement in maintenance in competition and goal formation. The main obstacles to family support are negative parental actions and negative parental influence. Conclusions. Financial, emotional and educational (moral) support for the family plays a huge role in sports-talented children. Children have emotional and physical activity expectations for family support - they want to be encouraged and feel positive from their parents and engage in physical activity with family members.
